As life has it, being supplied with too much spare time on your hands often turns out to be counterproductive for those times when there is no spare time.
When I thought, hey, why don’t you open up your own weblog? It first seemed so easy. blogger.com looked to be just the kind of “hip” thing. But when I had signed on and lookes around for a couple of minutes, i realized that it wasn’t exactly what i wanted.
Not that it’s really a problem with features, those would probably have satisfied my first needs. Rather, I realized that here was the opportunity for me to finally make some use of all those fancy features that come with my €24.99 webhosting package.
Anyway, that’s when I started to look around for a proper database supported weblog/journal software I could install on my domain and tweak to the fullest. That was when things got nasty…
Three days and different programs further down the road, I had finally found just the thing I wanted – it even worked “just out of the box” or, zip file to be more honest! This piece of software which is working in the background to bring this site to you is called movable type.
And it rocks!
